HCO Cast and Blast Guided Trip
The Perfect Blend of Hunting and Fishing
The marsh hen is a client favorite here on the historic coast. The clapper or king rail commonly referred to as a marsh hen, is a seasonal target and is often paired with our flood tide fishing trips known as the “cast & blast combo”. On this trip you will troll the creeks to flooded grass flats where we will wade and flush up the marsh hens, all while searching for tailing redfish on the spartina grass flats.
“The Marsh Hen is one of our favorite birds to introduce to our clients here on Florida’s Historic Coast.”
— Capt. Bryan Ennis (Guide / Naturalist)
The HCO Cast and Blast Experience
A low country favorite! During our floodtide season in the Summer and Fall, we are able to sight fish redfish and also wingshoot for clapper and king rails better known as, the marsh hen.
As we pole along the the flooded spartina grass in our skiffs, we cast to tailing redfish and flush up the marsh hens as we take aim and shoot!
